Houses and homes

My quilt guild, the Strip Piecers has been making houses from Bonnie's Happy Scrappy Houses pattern. Most of us made four or more, and we ended up with a whole neighbourhood last night. We laid them out on my dining room table, fully extended with six boards, but a few still ended up on the floor.

We each chose four, not our own, and we're making little quilts, vertical, horizontal or square to donate to Mennonite Disaster Service. MDS rebuilds houses in disaster areas, and likes to give each homeowner a little quilt at the end of the project.

These are the four I chose. They all have some fun elements, like the multiple moons in the snowy sky or the person in the window or the sunflower lawn.

The houses all look great, and what a wonderful gift for the homeowners that the MDS help out!!! Good stuff!
Happy stitchings!

I like your neighborhood! Have you tried Gwen Marston's liberated housing? Check out her book. It's really fun.
