I saw this full-sized quilt at an architectural antique store. I'm looking for an oak door for the opening between my LR and front hall, but somehow I wandered into the housewares department as well and got taken in by the quilts. I didn't have room to unfold it completely, so I'm only showing a bit of it. This one might qualify as a fungly, don't you think? it has interesting fabric choices, and some make-do and make it work aspects, like how the stripe is used both on grain and on the bias in the block below
or this yellow one with the busy background. I like the
red sashing and the orange cornerstones. It was priced at $350 and the tag said it had never been washed. I left it there for someone else to discover, but I thought I'd share the pix with you.

Very interesting blocks. At that price I'm not surprised that it stayed there.
I too would have done the same, taken a photo and left it behind. fun to see - apparently there are many make do quilters out there.
Oh, I think I'd call that one a fungly too! What an interesting quilt! But, WOW, what a price tag! I'd settle for just the picture too.
What a cool quilt! I too, would have enjoyed the quilt, taken a photo and left it there. I really like the fabrics. Why is it that you have to add some weird/ugly fabrics (or at least put some together in unusual combinations), to make the quilt really sing? When the fabrics all "go" together, the song is so "blah."
Oh, great quilt! Thanks for sharing. It would be interesting to go back in a few weeks to see whether the quilt is still there. Maybe the shop would be willing to dicker...
wheee, fun. this looks so modern with those color choices.
