I've made several memory quilts from men's shirts recently for a family who lost a dad, son and brother too soon.
This was a family project, and together we made nine quilts from the same closet of XL shirts.
I made four from the same set of blue and orange shirts, about 20 in total.
All of the quilts below measure about 60 by 80 inches, with a few variations on the size.
One quilt used up all the shirt tails and sleeve plackets and inside tags
Here's the whole thing, sashed with narrow blue fabric
I also made three quilts from squares and rectangles.
This one features orange prints and a variety of blue checks
This one features Ls made from rectangles,
for the first name of the recipient
This one uses a huge variety of blue checks in various values,
making an interlocking plus design.
And with two of the recipients.
I've also made several from t-shirts, using the front logos.
This one used 16 tshirts, and was sashed and bordered with quilting cotton.
This quilt does not have sashing, and the tshirts motifs are various sizes.
