Vintage beauty

I saw this handstitched apple core quilt made from polyester double knits
at an estate sale today.
I didn't make an offer, but I really liked her use of colour.
Instead of a batting and backing, the quiltmaker backed it with an old wool blanket.
Maybe I should have bought it?

The vibrancy of the colours is great, but being double knit I wouldn't have wanted to buy it. You probably got the best deal by just photographing it for inspiration :)

Photos are free and don't take up nearly as much space - I would have admired and left it behind, too.
