Wondering where the lines are

I started quilting this cross quilt with straight lines

and then did a little fmq in the diamonds

to see if I like it.

I'm thinking the curved lines take away from the crosses.

Any other suggestions?

Update: I've picked out the fmq curves and gone with 
more straight line stitching.
