"Time Out" quilt finished and gifted

Yesterday I bought some off-white minky yardage and machine quilted this scrappy star top. I did a combination of stitch in the ditch in the big squares and free motion around the sawtooth border and the liberated stars. It is bound by bringing the minky to the front and stitching it down. This project took me two hours for the pin basting and machine quilting, thanks to the speed of my Juki, even with the walking foot. Today I gave this cozy throw to a friend who is taking some time out for herself over the next weeks, so it was named the "Time Out" quilt.

It turned out wonderfully. What a great name for a quilt. I love my walking foot too.

Nice! There's nothing like minkie. I made each of my daughters a minkie throw (flannel on one side, minkie on the other) and they love them. My older daughter keeps hers at work and she says people come by and stroke the blanket!

Nice. How did you like quilting with the minkie? I did one baby blanket with minkie but found it hard to work with on the frame...
