Christmas sewing of another sort

Last week I made some costumes for my church's children's pageant. These were simple tunics in neutrals, just two rectangles for the body and two for the sleeves, but true to form, I used whatever I had on hand, including this piece of bias binding, leftover from my mother's quilts, for the neckline. Perhaps 1st cenutry folk didn't have striped binding around the neck, but it worked as a quick finish here.

Here's the whole set of tiny tunics, made from various fabrics. Several of us sewers in the church make a bunch of new costumes each year. This year, somone transformed a thrift shop flat sheet and curtain remnants into a wiseman costume.
The pageant was this morning, and it came off well. And the costumes, as usual, were great.

I don't do this kind of sewing very often, but it's so very satisfying!
Cheers,
