I need an opinion and I have a deadline!

I need to finish this by Friday and I'm not panicking yet, but soon. I've put the spiky borders on this liberated quilt, which is a visual representation of midrash for a class I'm taking. I know it needs another border, but what? more light? another colour? It's small, maybe 20 by 24, so I'm confident I can get it hand quilted in a minimal way by my deadline if I baste it today.

Personally, I think all it needs is a binding. I think another border would take away from what you've already done, which is fantastic!

I agree anything else but binding might be too busy. I say black or red binding. Sharonj

I also think a binding could be enough for this great liberated quilt. But I do like plain borders: what about the navy? Or navy binding?

p.s. I love your word quilts.

What if you mimic the 2 smaller borders around the center? I think that would then frame the whole piece. the your binding could be any of the colours you want to highlight. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your finished piece.

I think it looks great as it is, how about adding just a wide black binding?

it's all such a personal choice! I love how you used MANY different beige to fill in between the point. if anything I'd keep with that as it pulls the middle out as well... Its great. You'll know what to do with it! keep playing!

I don't know that it needs another border, maybe just rotated so that the really strong color in the top border would then be at the bottom... very fun!

Rectangles of color - 3-5 per side, probably. Maybe half(ish) the width of the spikey bits?

:-) Looking forward to seeing what you end up with!

It looks great the way it is. I think you have done enough, unless you really are set on another border.

how about an extra wide binding to finish it off in a strong color?

What midrash...inquiring minds want to know? I would love to read what inspired such a vibrant, exciting quilt.

Hello,
It's a nice quilt.Have you more of that fabric with letters for another border? Dark red or reds will look great too, even only with binding will be beautiful.

I mean the big letters

I like dark borders on a busy quilt. I'd probably go with the navy but quite narrow. You must be a much faster hand quilter than I am (as you know, it takes me years and then I don't finish!)

I definitely think a light border with just a little of the colors brought out into it. I think a dark border would close it in (maybe??). It's hard to know not seeing it in person. Good luck - it's great so far :).

Another red one I thought.

I would use a plain solid in a medium color. I never thought of making a quilt like this to illustrate a midrash!
