Finding a new home

Look at what yummy fabrics are now making a home in my fabric cupboard. My mother brought these half yard cuts and fat quarters of Kaffes, Westminster fabrics,  Valori Wells (second from the top) and others home to me after she visited California. Being a quilter with a good eye, she bought fabrics that play nicely together  so I could put them together in one project. Aren't they great? thanks so much!
Look at the name of the this one. I'm going to have some fun with that selvage too.

I've been making needlecases again, adapting the pattern from this tutorial to make these:

The inside shot shows the pockets on the bottom and top. They finish at 4.5 by 9.5, just a bit bigger than the other ones I've made.
And look what I found, hiding in a box of strings--the two missing triangles for my spiderweb quilt. I know many of you predicted I would find them somewhere, and I did. Now I should make a few more triangles to keep these company.

Wonderful fabrics.

I knew you'd find them in the end. They were just waiting until you'd stopped looking for them.

How nice to have someone who quilts buying you gifts. My kids often say they'd buy me quilting stuff but they don't know what to get. My Japanese DIL bought me some fabric from Japan last time she went home. It was too nice to use so sits in my stash. I love the circles since I collect them but the stripes are wonderful too. I think you'd need a bolt of Hot Flash just for the selvage. Lol.

How lucky to not only be able to raid your mom's stash, but to have her bring back such fun fabrics! Looking forward to see what you do with them.
