Amish feast

At my guild meeting last night, we showed off our 12 inch Amish blocks for S's quilt. She wanted dark colours and space to quilt in. I'm sorry to say that the most stunning block of the evening -- the gold medalist far and away--didn't follow those instructions. But isn't it a beauty! Yes, it really is 12 inches, with 1/2 inch squares in the Trip around the world pattern. Amazing!
Here it is with the other lovelies. This will be one stunning quilt. Mine are the double nine patches in the top two rows. Several people were inspired by the bars pattern and there's diamond in the square and lots of other Amish goodies.

Here's what I've been playing with lately -- some liberated Amish strippy stuff and some words, not for the same project. I'm been more involved with process rather than project, so I haven't made much progress on the Liberated Amish challenge quilt.

Those Amish blocks are really stunning! The trip around the world would be a great center block.

Love your W -- I always find those hard to make, but your construction here is not too hard and it looks good.

I love those blocks and I think your "winner" block has room for quilting in the border around all the tiny squares. It is going to be a spectacular quilt!!!
