I like the red as a border, not so sure about the black and red star. Maybe a star with a neutral background and red points? I'll be filling in the rest of the background with patches and stars. I like the black and white border. I think this is the fourth quilt I've used this fabric for and I'm wishing I had bought more.

the B&W border is great! love how it sets off the interior.
I love those letters! And that is a very cool way to highlight that gorgeous block!
I really like it. The border is fantastic. I agree that the star may be a bit dark for the rest of the quilt but maybe not in real life. It's always hard to tell on the screen.
The letters look great! Do you want this to be a vertical orientation? I'd try to see if the white space could be balanced more, perhaps with a horizontal orientation?
Wow, I love that border fabric too - it's awesome! I can understand why you're bemoaning not buying more! I like your neutrals background. I agree with you, perhaps the star is too dark. Maybe a red star with a neutral background would be better. This is going to be gorgeous!
I love the words - esp those two ff's together. very fun. yup, would probably forgo that black star too... otherwise, wonderful and yes, cool border fabric!
Love your letters and your color combination! Maybe the black star needs a bit more black for company in the quilt? Or maybe i belongs to a different one? That is a fun and sometimes difficult choice to make when the quilt is not all pre planned, but happens as you go. I will love to see how take this develops...
Those f's are brilliant. The whole thing just sings. Wonderful.
The black and red star seems a bit dark on it's own. A beige nine patch behind the star points might tie in better. Plus a little friendship star maybe?
I think it's great so far! Striking!
