Picking up where someone else left off

I got some deals on my vacation as well -- this needleworked pillow top for 75 cents at a thrift shop matches my living room furniture, so I'm going to finish it and admire it in my living room.
At the same shop, I found this piece of nearly-finished embroidery in creams and golds. Just the birds and a few curlicues need to be finished, but I got the rest of the embroidery floss and the pattern included for the dollar I spent. I love embroidery, but I don't want to pay to get it framed, so I may put a quilted frame around it instead.

These are fabrics from the sale bin. I'm thinking these greens will work for joining my roses and the pink will be great as borders for the stars and for making some more roses.
And here are bits of word fabric for that word quilt project which has stalled for the time being, plus a a couple of interesting fat quarters.
After yesterday's philosophical rant about trendy fabrics, I've calmed down and can show you the sale bin pieces that I really love. My total spending at quilt shops and thrift stores was $50, with only those Lipinski pieces and a bit of the word fabric at full price -- the rest was considerably less.

Good shopping! I never find quilting fabric in the thrift stores around here. Too many quilters I guess. I did find some wonderful fabrics in Portage MCC though. I want to go back there soon.

Very thrifty. As my friends used to say, "You're a good shopper!"
