This is a final finishing stage of four string quilts completed early in the year.
I made them with contributions from local quilting friends.
They are intended for use in the emergency shelter at Chiara House,
which was recently completed.
Before they left my house,
I took another series of photos,
these ones a bit on the wintry side.
All the quilts are a generous single sized,
all are made from scraps,
donated backings and battings.
We also made a set of blank greeting cards from photos of the quilts.
Contact me if you're interested.
Cost is $10 plus shipping.
Now the quilts are in their new home.
Here is the yellow/orange one on a bed in the emergency housing room.
In other finishing news, my mother Meg Suderman won second place in the handquilting categoryof the Manitoba Agricultural Societies Provincial Quilt competition. Way to go on a quilt 12 years in the making! It's all needle turn appliqueand hand quilted. I'm linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts, Confessions of a Fabric Addictand TGIFF. |
