Today I'm sending a quilty hug over to Mr. Scraps' office
for their annual coffee break to raise funds
for the Alzheimer's Society.
I've made placemats and tea cozies other years, but decided this time
to go big and go masculine,
since many of the guys in the office were complaining the silent auction prizes
were too girly.
The back is a cozy flannel in a geometric print.
My six-footer high school guy certainly loves it.
And don't you all just love that he knows exactly how to hold a quilt for his mom to take a photo?
I was hoping to make a fast and easy quilt.
For the most part, it was, other than a huge backing malfunction
which meant I abandoned my original plan of a soft minkee back
and used flannel instead.

I'm linking this to WIP Wednesday at The Needle and Thread Network.
UPDATE: Just heard from Mr. Scraps that a female co-worker won the quilt for her daughter, and it was the only prize of the 20 on offer that she really wanted. She's happy, I'm happy!

I hope they bid often and high!
Great quilt!
Love your comment about your son, too.
Great guy quilt!
I'm glad your quilt sold, and I hope it made a nice profit for the fundraiser. Your son is so sweet to hold up your quilts for me. My son offers, but he's only two feet tall, so he can only hold up the little ones. :)

A great quilt for the men....
Great quilt I hope it was a huge money maker for them :-)
A really nice "manly' quilt. There aren't many quilt patterns for men, are there? So nice that it sold to someone who appreciates it.
