Quilter is Citizen of the Year!

We all think our mothers are rock stars
but I have proof that mine really is.

The woman who taught me to sew on her Elna

who gave me her Featherweight

who made my sister's wedding dress
(I wore my mother's 1958 dress for my wedding in 1991)

who values her family
(here she is with her sisters, daughters, and daughter-in-law)

and who taught me how to quilt,
and made this quilt with me in 2010

is Citizen of the Year in Winkler, Manitoba, Canada,
for her volunteer work and her quiltmaking activities.

Congratulations!
