I sewed these bricks together several years back,
planning to make a traditional Chinese coins quilt,
but I couldn't find the right sashing.
So it sat in my drawer,
and now I'm in a place where I want to finish it quickly.
What do you think about no sashing
with the seams not matching?
Or how about inserting blocks from my parts drawer randomly?
And what's a good size for a throw?
Since this is on my portable design wall (aka flannel backed picnic tablecloth)
I'm linking up to Judy's design wall Mondays.

In my mind I would sash with a solid rust color.
I love it this way. But I'm sure it'd be great with sashing too. Ah, decisions--the agonizing and the fun part of quilt making!
I think unmatched seams and no sashing is just fine. In fact, it's sort of the spirit of the scrap quilt, IMHO.
If you decide not to sash it, you could offset the bricks (or coins) so you won't notice that the seams don't match.
I would just sew it together the way it is
don't worry if the seams don't match
and if you have a great fabric that works as a border put a border on....
just mho....
throw size I like 60 x 70 , but I have made 45 x 60 or 50 x 50

Looks good just the way it is. There is no penalty for not having the seams matching.lol
I agree with Kathie - I'm usually a non-sasher on scrap quilts.
This looks great to me!
I like the unmatched, random look - it's lively. Sashing might take away from that...
I think a sash would be great. Look for a reproduction gold or any other color you want to showcase.
