since I rarely post pictures of myself. But today I'm featured over at
The Needle and Thread Network, and they asked for a photo of me.
Regular readers of my newspaper column in my local paper will recognize this photo, since it runs every Saturday with my story.
I've decided to show TNTN readers some of my group quilts.
This ticker tape quilt, inspired by Amanda at Crazy Mom Quilts,
was part of a challenge in my guild a couple of years ago.
We each made two blocks in quilt as you go,
and I put them together.
Here's the back.
This string quilt was one I organized with my guild
and it's led to a long-running joke about lobsters.
We made this black and white beauty last year
and it's still up for sale to raise funds for Mennonite Central Committee.
Leave me a comment if you want to buy it and I'll get you intouch with the right person.
My mother and I made this hand-appliqued quilt out of our own stash of hand-dyed fabrics,
and we raised $5,200 for my sons' school with it.
I made all these little Amish-style miniatures,
except for the ones in the bottom row,
for a gifts to Iranian women who visited my hometown last year.
This is the latest completed group quilt,
a string quilt for my friend's 50th birthday
and she really loves it.
I made a bunch of blocks and sewed it together.
It measures 80 by 105 inches.
Thanks for visiting. If you'd like to see my recent baby quilts, click here

How lovely to have a face to put with your name Brenda, I'm glad to swap "howdy's" with you, as Little Burl would put it.
I love, love, love your various string quilts, but the Lobsters Delux is my fave...always happy to see that one. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Finn
