square process

I took the bunch of hand-dyed 2 inch purple squares at the left and surrounded them with cuttings off a pieced hand-dyed strip like the one at the right
to make a 9 patch of framed squares. Here it is sewn together, and now I'm auditioning border options. Not sure about a border of purple. any other suggestions?

Lovely patches. They look like paintings.

I like the patches. Black or white would make a good border - making the central blocks stand out more.

They really sparkle. So lovely. I think they're pretty enough to frame! Did you try gray or black?

Love the purple! I also love how the bottom two left side blocks look like you made them rectangle and not squares, just by the fabric layout... even though they are squares! Very fun!

Beautiful blocks and I agree with Becky. Black and white would look fabulous.

love the shades of purple for the border!

I like the purple but I'd audition black. I always like brights set off by black.

Lovely fabrics, but I suggest a different tone for the border

hey this is beautiful! what wonderful colors. i dont know, the purple border looks good, reminds me of jelly beans for some reason. you have a little yellow in there. and a piece of blue. lots of red. what about a dark green border?

I like how the black makes them glow... maybe the purple and then black?
