I've finally completed this fun house quilt that I began last fall on a whim when the houses just sprung up on my design wall. This quilt makes me happy with its wonky houses, bright colours, b/w prints, and fun fabrics from various sources. I think I counted 50 different ones in total. Joyce graciously lent me the use of her mid-arm in a frame a few weeks back, and was encouraging and gentle with me even when things went badly. We bonded over ripping out black thread on black fabric, and in the end, it turned out great. I have to fix a few machine stitches and hand quilt around a few more of the wee houses, but otherwise its done. It is a throw for DS#2, who has grown a couple of inches since fall and now this is barely big enough to cover that tall body on a chilly day when he's reading in his room.
Here are some closeups of the houses and fabrics.

so fun - you did a great job!
Absolutely wonderful in every way! But..you need to stop feeding that boy! Tell him it's easier for him to stop growing than for you to take apart and make a quilt bigger ;)
Your quilt oozes joy and whimsy and fun. Great work!
Love it Brenda! Looks great! 8-)

It turned out quite beautiful Brenda! I love the bright colours mixed with the B&W's, and all the wonky houses. Definitely on my list of quilts/blocks to try!

Just out of curiosity Brenda, does this quilt count as one of your PhDs done for my sidebar list? I have you down for 4 projects...
