Two finishes and some Kaffe goodness

Thanks for all your comments on my pink baby quilt. I took out the butterfly fabric on the nine patches, put them into framed squares and bumped up the contrast. The one at the left is made from the bits I took out of the Irish chain quilt.  It measures 25 by 25 and is machine quilted in a wavy grid pattern.

Above is the Irish chain with the framed squares in pink and green, measuring 31 inches square. I used the red/pink Kaffe floating flowers print that's in the corner and centre blocks as the binding. I'm still a novice machine quilter, but I did OK with these. This one is quilted on a diagonal grid. The back is pieced with leftover flannels (on the left). The other on is a plain white cotton. Both quilts are intended for the preemie ward of the local kids hospital, and they take little quilts like these for the wee preemies. With these finishes, that makes six donation quilts for 2010 -- three baby quilts, and three art quilts for AAQI.

A little more retail therapy-- some sale skeins of Regia sock yard by Kaffe Fassett -- I thought the colour combinations looked familiar, and sure enough, they match his fabric line. A socks and quilt outfit, anyone?
Also, head over to the Selvage Blog to see my selvage tea cozies featured today and say hi to Karen from me!
