It's no mystery --it's Thanksgiving!

Laura at Bricolage sent me this photo of the fabrics in our guild's monthly mystery challenge. We've all placed our fabrics in separate boxes, and they're circulating amongst us in an orderly fashion. We can use as much or as little of the focus fabric and the only rule is to make a 12.5 inch block. My first mystery block was with that gold in the middle, but I can't show it to you in case the owner hangs out at my blog. Laura's fabric is the green/blue/maroon/white print at the far left. I bought the subtle marbled fabric on the right.
Nine of us are participating, but one woman put in two blue prints in the top row -- the dark one and the one with yellow. She couldn't decide between them, so we can use both or just one. My biggest challenge is not obsessing about the block I'm making. I'm treating this like a multiple choice test -- go with your first instinct. I don't want a 12.5 inch block to take over a whole month.
And for all of my Canadian blogging friends: Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the long weekend. We're having a rainy cool weekend in Manitoba, but hey, it could be worse. It's snowing next door in Saskatchewan! ouch! It's only mid-October!

You really get an odd assortment of fabrics this way. I'll be curious to see what everyone does with them.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Did you come out to Winkler?
