Summer roses

Inspired by Andrea over at the Lazy Gal Summer class, I decided to see if I could make roses bloom indoors. I got out my strings and scraps and started sewing. So far I have a bouquet of seven, most about seven to eight inches across, except for the pink/purple one in the middle. I've figured out the roses look better if I start with a five or six-sided shape in the middle. Quite fun, and much more interesting than my real work on a hot July day.

Those are good looking roses. I have not tried them yet but I certainly will have to.

Oh, Brenda, your roses are beautiful. They are so vibrant. I can smell their frangrance from here. I want to do some, too. I like your crumb blocks, also. I think crumb blocks are so fun.

Oh, pretty! I am tempted to try these. Maybe with some green filler pieces to serve as leaves....hmmmm.

These are beautiful Brenda! I've only done something similar with paper piecing but I think I'll have to try this. How will you sew such irregular shapes together?

Aren't the fun to sew??? They look lovely. When it comes time to put them together, take a look at all the suggestions the gals had in the summer class in response to my call for help! Or drop me a line and I'll share the ways I cobbled them together! Enjoy!!
