Another finish, from the two-inch square box. This quilt is done, except for one edge of the binding and ready for a show next weekend in Winnipeg. It's a study in values, made totally out of the 1200 two inch squares inherited from my mother's stash, a stack of 3.5 inch squares passed along from another quilter. The only squares I cut are the larger light ones. Thanks to
Mary for the inspiration for how to use the little squares -- scroll down the left side of her site for directions for a Double Four Patch. There are hundreds of different fabrics in this quilt, and I'm liking it more and more every time I look at it. It was machine quilted in an all over stipple or meander design, and I'm going to use this as my everyday quilt.

For the past 10 years or so, we've been sleeping under a handquilted Amish square within a square made by my mother as a wedding gift. I've posted pix of the miniature version which hang over the bed. It's a beautiful quilt, but its starting to show wear, so I want to rest it for a while.
I'm off to Boston for a few days of sightseeing. Any suggestions on fabric stores or quilt exhibitions not to miss?

This is a really nice quilt. I really like it, so warm and inviting.
I love your quilt. Of course, since it is a scrap quilt, that is a plus. Your quilt is so lovely. I like the diagonal design flow. Great job. I have a new quilt on our bed, too. After our quilt show, I brought home my Whirlygigs and put it on the bed instantly. I enjoy looking at all the differant fabrics.
Your quilt looks great! I love a scrap quilt, and you have great diagonal design flow, as Pam said. I really like the 4-Patch design. Easy to do, and very effective in scraps! Congrats on a great finish! Hope you have a good trip!
What a great, scrappy quilt!
This looks really great - I love seeing Double 4 Patch quilts with different color schemes. I might just have to make another one myself one of these days.
If you come by my blog you can read about my 2 1/2 inch square journey! this double four patch is the next one on the list for using up my 'thousands' of squares -- Hope it looks as exciting as your does!
I love your new bed quilt! The colors are wonderful.
