Two finishes for Friday

I have two finishes today.
First up is this two-rail fence, 48 by 60.
My mother was generous and gave me that rainbow and black print
as well as the batting.

This is the back -- a very cuddly looking and feeling flannel.
Here you can see the diagonal quilting lines.
This one is going on the giveaway pile for my friend's new foster child.

This is a sampler-style quilt made in 2008-2009
with my quilt group.
We each passed around a metre of fabric and everyone made blocks
I made additional blocks to get to 20.
I chose not to sash it, but just sew the blocks to each other.
This one also measures 48 by 60.

I machine quilted it in four sections
and joined them when quilted,
covering up the seam with strip of fabric.

I'm quite pleased at how the quilting turned out.

I did some with the walking foot, but most freemotion.

I'm linking up to Amanda's Finish up Fridays
and Sarah's Can I have a whoop whoop.

Your rail fence is so electric! I love the colors and the arrangements of the blocks.
