Have a heart day

To celebrate Valentine's Day
I tried free motioning a couple of hearts on red silk noile
with a puffy wool batting.
I like the texture of both the silk and the wool.

I laid out my Grecian Cross quilt the other day.
This isn't the final layout, but it's a start.
I'm having a sewing day tomorrow, so I'll tweak it a bit.

I used up the bits and parts leftover from the Grecian Cross
to make a heart quilt.
I only cut a few parts specially for the quilt
and all the rest, including the borders,
was left from the Grecian Cross.
Since I used up scraps and yardage in this quilt,
I had lots left.
I\m planning on making a few more HSTs for the side borders
and then this should finish at 36 inches square.
Perfect size for a baby quilt.

Love the Grecian cross quilt and the hearts! I hope to do one of those in a small 12" block for my table top mini quilt seasonal quilts. I did a fall pumpkin like that and it turned out really cute in Kaffe Fasset scraps I had. Great blog!!
