This is a finish long in process.
Last summer, I machine quilted this throw-sized quilt
for my mother.
She had made the top several years back,
and I convinced her I could finish it.
And now, after all these months and years,
the binding is on and it's done.
We chose a gold thread and a gold binding
and I think this quilt has some great sparkle.
In this photo you can see the seam lines of the blocks.
The quilt is not sewn on point, but instead each of the coloured fabrics
is set on point with black triangles left over from other projects.
It's a version of the Economy Block I've seen lately.
And yes, we have snow in the Great White Frozen North!

Nice! I love how you quilted the diagonal lines into the border.
Great collaborative finish! I think the quilting really adds to the finished effect :)
Hi Brenda, thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful piece of art!
I loved that you could finish this quilt started by your mother.
It looks great! Love the sparkle.
What a great quilt and I agree that gold thread gives it that extra sparkle! I have got to make one of these, going to find my solid color charms right now. Thanks to you and your mom for the inspiration!
I love this! That thread is a fabulous choice for the quilting. Thanks for lining up with TGIFF!
The gold thread added just the right amount of sparkle and really tied the border into the quilt.
Way to stick with this quilt all the way to the finish line. It looks great! Thanks for sharing!
