Out of my comfort zone

I fused last weekend!
(And I didn't get adhesive on the iron or ironing board!)

It's not my usual way of making quilts,
but my friend Em was making this hanging for a friend.
She was lamenting about her lack of variety in greens,
so I gave her some of mine.

After she finished making her coneflowers and leaves,
she passed on her leftover shapes to me.
So with one bloom and lots of stems and leaves,
I made this 12 by 18 inch quilt.
Em even shared the strip-pieced background she used,
which I cut on an angle.
Inspired by Em's plan to put the word "hope" on the quilt
and give it to a friend facing challenges,
I quilted in the word hope at the top.

Here's you can see the quilting lines.

I gave away the quilt the same day
and now it's hanging in a friend's office.

Very pretty! I'm sure it will bring cheer to your friend. Nice to see that you can make something so simple that means a lot.

What fun. Love the quilting you did to set off the bud, and to add 'hope'. Delightful!
