Welcome to the Neighbourhood!
machine pieced and quilted
40 by 40 inches
I'm entering this recent finish in the baby quilt category
of the Fall 2013 Blogger's Quilt Festival.
I know this will be a repeat for my regular readers.
I know this will be a repeat for my regular readers.
Here you can see the outline and free motion quilting
on the flannel back.
Each house has fun elements peeking out of them
and I tried to use different fabrics for each house.
I even used scrappy greens for the binding.
I included some fun elements, like a sewing room
complete with measuring tapes, zippers,
and a sleepy cat.
And of course the Sesame Street gang wanted to join in the fun
As well as a laundry line of colourful undies
and some fun flip flops.

I love the free form nature of your house quilt! You can tell you had a lot of fun making it even without reading your comments! It's a good project for when you are in the mood to just PLAY! Thanks for the ideas! cheers, Claire W.
Though I've seen it before, it's still beautiful and a joy to look at !
Adorable I can't imagine a child who would not love this quilt, so much to look at and the colors are so lively.

I'm not one who usually loves house and applique quilts, but this one is really great! Good job!
This is bound to be greatly loved by the little person who recieves it….lots of things to find and count! Love that the quilting will be something the child will enjoy from the back too!

I love your house quilt. I especially like the way you have incorporated fun elements in each house.
So fun to see your neighborhood again. I love this quilt! It's so fun, so much for little people to see and find. (grownups too!) Love your little touches of whimsy, and your quilting too. I'm sure this one will be well-loved.
