I made this Amish Puzzle Ball from this tutorial as a baby shower gift.
I used a different fabric for each of the 12 melon shapes
to give it a bit of an I Spy quality.
I cut my circles 7 inches and the ball finished at 6 inches in diameter.
Although I like the end result, I probably won't make another one.
I estimate this took at least four hours to cut, sew, turn, stuff, and handstitch.

ooh! I'd only make one too. That's a lot of time. Cute though!
...yes, but what a wonderful result !
I made one of those once, but without the "puzzle" part. Never thought of not sewing the centre parts together to add a twist. I'm sure it will be enjoyed!
Very cute!
It's so cute, with all the fabrics you selected, along with the black and white. Thanks for the tutorial link. I may make one for my next baby shower.
Thanks for linking to my tutorial. Your puzzle ball is delicious and colorful! They do take some time, but are such a great scrap craft. They can be machine sewn in much less time but I'm much better at hand sewing and prefer it myself. Your quilts are wonderful! I'm looking forward to spending some time reading your blog.
very cool. I'd love to try one of these.
Thanks for the link to the tutorial
