I'm not a fan of the quilt police,
but I have just a tiny bit of a grammar cop in me.
So to keep me from exploding when I read your lovely blogs,
that yellow fabric around the stars is a border.
And a boarder is someone who pays to live in your house
and for whom you provide room and board (meals).
And see that gold fabric peeking from behind the red bars?
I made this quilt at the peak of my creativity!
This post may border on the crazy,
and I may be at the peak of my exasperation,
but at least I'm showing you some lovely quilts!

Wow! I am so there with you! My biggest pet peeve is when people CONSTANTLY confuse plural and possessive. "My quilt's just need the binding." CRINGE!
Drives me crazy also!! I especially have a hard time when I hear the spoken language so mangled. It's good to vent.
Personally I find it offensive when people correct other's grammar errors in the comments section of blogs and also in person. Mistakes happen and not everyone knows English as a first language, in fact it is VERY hard to learn English. I don't correct people who try to use my native language unless they ask for feedback because I don't want to cause them discomfort. So maybe people can cut others a little slack.
Oh dear, maybe you should skip reading my blog. I know I must have lots of grammar errors but punctuation is my big downfall.
You certainly ARE showing some great quilts. Got a good chuckle from your homonym homily.

LOL. Drives me crazy too, but since I am a visitor, I never comment on it. I just shake my head and move on, don't figure it is my place to point out errors, but at least I know that I'm not the only one who notices ;).
I think the big problem is spell-check. It's not "grammar-check", so the word is spelled correctly, just not used correctly. And I don't think people are taught the difference anymore, maybe? Drives me crazy too.

My pet peeve is lectern and podium. I was In toastmasters for 25 years and must have explained the difference a million times!
Too funny. I readily admit I am the worst at spelling, but come on: "..... tape your quilt back to the floor and pull it taught..". (Shaking head and wondering what they teach in school these days.)
Lol, blogging in a foreign language has me constantly worrying about grammar and spelling mistakes. At some point I have to say enough already and press post or there would be no blog at all. You never know how well you know a language until you use it in writing day in and day out.
One of my readers, a very polite English teacher, once wrote me an email, complementing my English in general and pointing at a mistake I had made. I had a good laugh, sent her a polite thank you, and corrected the mistake.)
The more I read the Blogger help menus, the "bored-er" I get, but your little quilt show has certainly "piqued" my interest!

Brenda, you make me smile. My personal crazy maker is the French word voila which I've seen written as "walla" so frequently all over blogland that I fear it may become a miss-spelled English word.
this post just made me laugh I know I probably have done this a time or two and if I did I am sorry.
its like the iphone it just types the word it wants to even if its not what I want it too! most of my posts are written early in the am, maybe I should wait till the afternoon?

I'm with you on the boarder misspelling. I had seen it so many times I was beginning to wonder if it was just spelled differently in perhaps Canada or Australia like color and colour.
I completely agree. Bad spelling permeates offices and folks think spell check will catch their (not there) mistakes. Alas, NOT!
