A little winter flower

8 by 11 inches
machine pieced, hand quilted and beaded

My most recent priorty quilt for Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.
Founder and director Ami Simms announced earlier this week
that this non-profit which raises money for Alzheimer's research
is shutting down at the end of  2013.

By then, AAQI hopes to have raised $1 million for research.

They're still taking quilts until July, and this is one of four waiting to be mailed.

If you've always wanted to make a quilt for them, this is your chance.

Ooooo I love that! I didn't know AAQI was shutting down. I haven't sent one in a couple years so I had better get going. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Brenda,
I loved this piece before quilting, but now it is even better - love you you finished it, the quilting is perfect.
Hope all is well in Canada, love seeing your quilt on my wall every day - and in V's book too! :)

It is really a beautiful mini. I love the hand stitching and bead work. I am grateful to have stumbled upon your blog. My grandma had Alzheimer's. It was so sad. I would love to make a quilt for them! Thanks for the information on it.
