Sometimes, I obsess about what I need to accomplish,
instead of actually getting down to doing it.
I promised this little three letter word to Carol months back
and then promptly forgot.
Once I remembered, it hung over my head
until I finally did it.
The lesson here: just do it already!
So I took my own advice and got out some vintage star blocks.
They're handpieced but wonky,
which is probably why they came to live in a thrift shop
until my friend Joyce rescued them.
I made one into a little candle mat
and I'm thinking about how to use the others.
I auditioned them against some poison green yardage.
it works, but most of the points will be lost in the piecing.
So I put them away for another time.
And here's another example of what happens when you do, instead of obsess:
I found all these missing things in one of my take-along sewing bags.
I had cleaned up my sewing room, but I still couldn't find
my point turner or my marking pen.
And then I looked through my bags, and there they were,
waiting for me.
If you would like a chance at some vintage kitchen fabric, leave a comment here.
I'll draw a winner on Thursday, December 13.
