Feathery finish for Friday

I've been making a quilt for an anticipated Christmas baby,
and I'm even done early.
Baby Dresden
40 by 40 inches
machine pieced and quilted

It's a simple little nine patch quilt, made from three colours of the same print,
with a little white sashing and those dark purple setting squares.

and backed with a cuddly flannel.

I quilted in lots of feathers and swirls.

The colours are truer in the snow photo, but you can see the quilting better in this one.
I appliqued two circles in the centre.
Actually, this is the emergency quilt.
The one I intend for the upcoming Christmas baby,
the fouth child of friends who have three sons,
is this one below.
It's nearly quilted and I've even cut and pressed the binding.

The older brothers of this baby wanted a quilt with all the colours,
so I complied.
But their mother is really hoping for a girl,
so I made a girlie quilt as backup.

I'm linking up with Sarah and Amanda Jean.

What a great quilt. I love your quilting! I do hope they get a little girl, but boys are fun too.

Love the quilting, Brenda, it makes the quilt game to life! I cannot say I blame the big brothers wanting the colourful quilt for themselves...
